Obituary of Alicia Aranda Swann

 

Alicia Aranda Swann met Jesus May 24, 2018. A gathering for family and friends will be Wednesday May 30, 2018 at noon until, her funeral celebration at 1:00 p.m. all at the Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, SC.  Burial will be at Southland Memorial Gardens following the services. Alicia was born in Colon, Panama, to her late father Francisco Aranda and late mother Carlota Sumosa Castro.

 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Charles Cole, and survived by her current husband of 42 years, James Allen Swann. Her children are Bernard Bosco Cole, Margaret Frances Baxley, and Katharine Anne Estrada.

 

Surviving her as well are sons-in-law, David Baxley and Zachary Troy Estrada. Her loving grandchildren include Jennifer Renee’ Ashley, Joshua David Baxley, Samantha Nicole Hartman, Jasmine Yvonne Deroy, Morgan Nicole Baxley, and Alicia Rosa Estrada; grandsons-in-law Colby Sherwin Ashley and Edward Anthony Hartman Jr.

 

Her young great-grandchildren include Nicholai Jude Owens, Brantley Skipper Ashley, Coraline Alicia Ashley, Edward Anthony Hartman III, and a 4th baby due to the Ashley’s July 18, 2018.

 

She was led to Christ by Pastor John O’Cain and was a member of his church. Then for 28 years she was a member of Charity Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Smith and recently Alpine Baptist Church.
