Obituary of Michael Dale

A funeral service celebrating the life Michael Dale Cox, 49, of Columbia will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12p.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina 29646 in Mike?s memory. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Michael departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. ?Mike? as he was affectionately called by his friends was born in Rochester, Indiana to Jenny Lee Barnes Cox and the late Dale Cox. Mike was employed at Greenlawn Memorial Park & Woodridge Memorial Park as a Cemetery Superintendent. Surviving are his loving wife, Marie Hansen Cox; daughters, Rebecca (Larry) McMichael, Kelly (Heath) Regalis, and Kerrie (JP) Myers; his mother, Jenny Lee Barnes Cox; step-children, Magan Marceleno and Andrew Martin; nine grandchildren; a sister, Molly Latta; brothers, Tony, Matt, and Andy Cox; and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
