Obituary of Franklin Edward Williams

A Celebration of life service for Franklin Edward ?Ed? Williams, 76, of Gilbert, SC will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at First Christian Church with Scottish Rites Chapel Service, and interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Air Force Honors and Masonic Graveside Ceremony. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service in the Fellowship Hall at First Christian Church on Saturday. Reverend Torrie Osgood will be officiating and a eulogy will be given by his friend and mentor at NASA, Jack Lee from Huntsville, Alabama. Ed passed into eternal glory on Monday, November 22, 2010. Ed?s career of 33 years at NASA as an Aerospace Engineer with the Dr. Wernher Von Braun team that developed the Redstone, Jupiter, Jupiter C, Juno, Saturn I, Saturn IB, and Saturn V program. It was highlighted by receiving 2 Presidential Citations and numerous other prestigious awards and achievements. For him, his highest achievement was being a husband, father and grandfather. Surviving is his loving wife, Jeanne of Gilbert, SC, sons, Mark Edward Williams of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Jamie (Mandy) Caulder of Pamplico, SC, Joshua Caulder of Gilbert, SC; daughter, Talitha P. Bailey of Birmingham, AL; and 13 grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to First Christian Church, 2062 N. Beltline Blvd., Columbia, SC 29204 in Ed?s memory.
