Obituary of William Jordan

William E. "Ed" Jordan Funeral service for William E. "Ed" Jordan, 74, of Cayce, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, in Cayce United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Michael Henderson, Rev. Susan Culler, Rev. John White and Ms. Sharon Long. Interment will be at Woodridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Taylor, Barton Henley, Jim Park, Kermit Long, George W. "Billy" Clemmons, and James W. Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Cayce United Methodist Church Kitchen Fund or Adult Choir Fund, 1600 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Mr. Jordan died Thursday, April 21, 2011. Born in Pelzer, SC, he was a son of the late Herman Lewis Jordan and Avis Dickson Jordan. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in 1959, where he majored in Economics and received a Bachelors Degree. Mr. Jordan served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1959 until 1961. He was employed with the 3M Pharmaceutical Company as a Pharmaceutical Representative and retired in 2000. He was a member of Cayce United Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class, where he was a Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of Columbia Medical Representatives, and past member of the Board of Directors of Edenwood Neighbors Association. Surviving are his loving wife, Hazel Barton Jordan of Cayce; son, William E. "Bill" Jordan, Jr. (Debbie Clemmons Jordan) of West Columbia; sister, Merry Taylor (Ashley) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Austin William Jordan and Madison Derrick Jordan.
