Obituary of Lizzie Hunter

A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Lizzie Fulmer Hunter, 96, of Columbia will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements Mrs. Hunter departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was born on May 14, 1914 in Newberry, SC to Joseph Edward Fulmer and Lillie Viola Bedenbaugh Fulmer. Lizzie was a dedicated member at Greenlawn Baptist Church for 60 years where she was also a member of the Woodfin Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hunter was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Walter L. Hunter, Sr.; a daughter, Betty Faye Rogers and a grandson, Brian C. Hunter. Surviving are her loving sons, Walter L. (Ann) Hunter, Jr. and Gerald F. (Carol) Hunter; a loving daughter, Linda H. (Bubba) Bordeaux; her sister, Frances Wicker; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
