Obituary of Ellen Floyd

CAYCE—A graveside service for Ellen B. Floyd, 93, of Cayce will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Dr. Bill Drees and Rev. Brett DeYoung. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Heartstrings Hospice, 115 Blarney Drive, Columbia, SC or Heartland of Lexington, 2416 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mrs. Floyd passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Born in Mullins, she was the daughter of the late William F. Brown an Tula McDaniel. She was a member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia and the Daughters of Americas. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving are her brother, William Brown of NC; grandchildren, Debra Richardson Ross and Ellen Richardson Glymph and two great-grandchildren, Seaman Daniel Glymph and Mary Elizabeth Ross. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virgil Floyd Richardson and her beloved husband of 73 years, Harvey Floyd.
