Obituary of Shirley Wages

Shirley Marie Wages LEXINGTON: A celebration of life service for Shirley Marie Wages, 62, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Clay Summers. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Wages, wife of James E. Wages, Jr., died Thursday, June 9, 2011. Born in Mobile, AL, she was the daughter of Dorothy Howell Flowers Gaskins, and the late Claude Flowers. She enjoyed camping and spending time in the mountains. Mrs. Wages was a warm, gentle spirit, who made friends easily. Her personality lit up any room she was in. Shirley was a delight to know and was loved by all who knew her. Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Gaskins of Mobile, Al; loving husband of twenty years, James E. Wages, Jr. of Lexington; daughter, Kim Wimmer Totty (Mark) of Los Angeles, CA; step-daughter, Mandy Roberts of Blythewood; step-son, Chris Wages of Blythewood; sisters, Debbie Clair (David) of Lexington and Brenda Campbell of Mobile, AL; brother, Bobby Flowers (Judy) of Mobile, AL; two grandchildren, Morgan and Davis Roberts, who were the love of her life; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Alice Wages of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
