Obituary of PASTOR JOE THREATT

Pastor Billy Joe Threatt, 69, of Hopkins, passed from his earthly home to Heaven?s gates, July 11, 2011 with his family by his side. The youngest child of the late Mrs. Sadie Hudson and Carl Bryant Threatt Sr., Mr. Threatt was a native of Erwin Farm, Lancaster, SC. He performed with a gospel group, The Beacons, for 13 years. He was the pastor for Pilgrims Way Baptist Church. Mr. Threatt is survived by his wife, Harriett Owens Threatt, of 48 years; and his youngest daughter, Pamela Jean, both of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Lisa Threatt Dixon and Kenneth DeVeaux Dixon Sr. of Hopkins; granddaughters, Katherine Darby Dixon and Caroline Elisabeth Dixon, also of Hopkins; grandson, Kenneth D. Dixon Jr. of Columbia; and his brother and sister-in-law Carl B., Jr. and Vera Threatt of Columbia. He was predeceased by his sister, Maude Threatt Adams. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dixon Jr., Matthew Gunning, Samuel Lee, Brendan Trostle, Cash Wilson, and Joey Yaun. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Pilgrims Way Baptist Church with Pastor Peggy Ferguson officiating. Burial and family visitation will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Pilgrims Way Baptist Church, 6081 Old Leesburg Road, Hopkins, SC 29061. Greenlawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
