Obituary of Marie Campbell

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Marie F. Campbell, 87, of West Columbia, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Congaree Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. John D. White. Burial will be Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mrs. Campbell, widow of Lee Allen Campbell, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Funderburk and Beulah Horne Funderburk. She was a resident since 1940, formerly of Camden, and a member of Congaree Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir for 40 years, a Sunday School teacher and a Circle Leader. She retired from Campbell Auto Supply Inc., where she worked as the secretary/treasurer for over 20 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and adored children. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia C. "Patty" Kestner of West Columbia; grandchildren, Dana C. Bowers of West Columbia, Robin C. Wallace of West Columbia, Wes Dieffenwierth of New Jersey, and Jason L. Sharpe in Norway; great-grandchildren, Trey Liles of Clemson, Jami Ryer of West Columbia, Ashley Bowers of West Columbia, Niki Bowers of West Columbia, Tara Wallace of West Columbia, and Brandon Pulley in Japan; great-great-grandchildren, Savanna Logan and McKenna Ryer. She was preceded in death by a son, Allen Campbell. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Campbell's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169.
