Obituary of James Lesesne

James Henry Lesesne, 82, of Cayce, died on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Born in Columbia, South Carolina on February 11, 1929 to William Bratton Lesesne and Louise Farris Taylor Lesesne, he attended Brookland-Cayce and Columbia schools. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and then worked in sales for Monroe Machinery, General Foods, and Standard Oil. In 1965, he opened Arnold?s Dry Cleaners, where he served many loyal customers and friends. In 1971, he opened Arnold?s Uniform Rental, which he sold in 1991. In 1991, he founded Lesesne Industries. He was a faithful member of Saluda River Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Alma Frances Grainger Lesesne of Cayce, sons Bill (Ellen), Pat (Carolyn), and Ralph (Kim) Lesesne, sisters Emily Lesesne Crapps and Linda Lesesne (John) Mitchell of Columbia, along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., with a visitation immediately preceding at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Saluda River Baptist Church Family Life Center Fund or Lutheran Hospice.
