Obituary of Brian Crane

Brian DeWayne Crane LEXINGTON—A memorial service for Brian DeWayne Crane, 44 of Lexington, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Rev. Ed Lynch. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Brian's honor, to National Eye Institute, for Leber's Disease Research, 31 Center Drive MSC 2510, Bethesda, MD 20892-2510 Mr. Crane passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011. Born in Oconee County, he was the son of Jane Stanfield Crane and the late Charles Edward Crane, Sr. He was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School. He was a market manager at BI-LO. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, golf and loved to cook for his family and friends. Brian will be dearly missed by loved ones and extended family. Surviving are his mother, Jane Crane; his wife, Barbara DuBose; daughter, Nichole Crane; son, Bryant Crane all of Lexington; brother, Charles "Eddie" Crane (Dedra) of West Columbia; nephew, Charlie Crane of West Columbia; step-daughter, Brooke DuBose; step-son, Travis DuBose; step-father, Bob Simmons all of Lexington; special friends, Mikey and Heath Hartwell and Stacy Backman. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Crane, Sr. his paternal grandparents, Romaine and Edna Crane and his maternal grandparents, Dora Stanfield and Tom Stanfield.
