Obituary of Marie Tutte Dannelly

Marie Louise Tutte Dannelly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2011. Marie was born in London, England April 14, 1923, the daughter of the late George Frederick and Winnifred Tutte. She served as a distinguished member of the Women?s Land Army driving tractors for farmers producing food during WWII and caring for the horses that produced plasma for the wounded soldiers. She married her husband of 55 years Joseph C. Dannelly in 1944 who was stationed in England with the U.S. Army Air Corp. Marie moved to the United States on the troop ship Mauritania in 1945 to meet her new family and country while her husband continued to serve. Marie and Joe co-founded the Christian ministry Reaching American?s Youth. They were also very active in prison ministry and Child Evangelism and were charter members of their local church, Columbia Evangelical Church. Marie was the proud mother of six children, LaRaine Rose, Sheldon Dannelly (Margaret), Glenn Dannelly (Molly), Ruth Terrio (Ed), Lois Nels (Mark), Winnie Reid, (Ken), twenty-one grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She is survived by siblings George and Terry Tutte. She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings Margaret, Reginald, Dorthy and Victor Tutte. Marie loved to travel and never missed a chance at adventure. She traveled to the Holy Land, the Philippines, Australia, Canada, and back to Great Brittan on numerous occasions. Her faith, testimony and love are her legacy to all who were blessed to have her touch their lives. Marie?s family wishes to extend a special thanks and appreciation to staffs of National Health Care, Palmetto Health and Tri-County hospices and to Luadel Edmond and Susie Roth as well as her church family and friends who ministered their loving help not only to Marie, but to her family during her prolonged illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Dannelly will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Columbia Evangelical Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church for visitation. Greenlawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
