Obituary of Lenora C. Quattlebaum

Lenora Crapse Quattlebaum (96) went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2023. She was born on November 14, 1926. Lenora was born to the late Charles Manley and Henrietta Perry Crapse. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Roland (Ronnie) I Quattlebaum.

Lenora is survived by her children Larry Quattlebaum (Stephanie) and David Quattlebaum (Laura), Vikki Kinsey (Jud) and Sharyn Myers. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Lenora (Nena) grew up on a family farm in Estill, SC and graduated from Estill High School.  She moved to Columbia in 1943 and attended business school. She worked as a secretary with the Richland County Schools, Shandon Baptist Church and retired from the SC State Budget and Control office. She taught in Sunday school, VBS and helped with International Student Ministry. Nena loved gardening and taking care of family members, the home and yard and her beloved cats when not babysitting grandchildren.  She also loved and followed her USC football and the women’s basketball teams. Hardly a day went by when she didn’t tell us her favorite motto, “Life is sweet!” The family wishes to thank Caring Healthcare, Inc and Prisma Health Hospice for their assistance with Lenora’s care. A special thanks to Mary, Tina, and Deidre.

Services will be at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206 on Monday, March 13, 2023, beginning with visitation at 12:00 pm in the Lobby prior to the service in the Chapel at 1:00. Graveside will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia 29209.
