Obituary of Arglis Eugene Sherrard

Arglis Eugene Sherrard “Gene” passed peacefully with his children at his bedside on April 11, 2022. He was 85 years old.

Gene is preceded in death by father Jess Washington Sherrard and mother Emma Adams; his sister Louise Logsdon and brothers Paul Sherrard, Joe Sherrard, and Calvin Sherrard.

He is survived by children Kathi (Gary) Hall, Billy Sherrard, Karen (Greg) Croft, Cindy (Shannon) Sherrard, and Danny (Cyndi) Sherrard. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family, especially his Tuesday nights with Cindy, “his sugar.” He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and softball, as well as creating many life hacks. He also devoted 40 years of his life to serve in the Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. He also served in the South Carolina Army National Guard.

In his honor, his family is requesting that you thank a veteran for their service. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 15th at 12pm in Serenity Gardens, 6001 Windwan Drive, Columbia SC 29209.
