Obituary of Mildred "Millie" Harvey Hydrick

Services for Mildred "Millie" Harvey Hydrick, 91, of Cayce, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Mill City Church of Cayce. There will be a private graveside service for the family following the church service. 

Millie entered this life on July 21, 1930 and departed this life on October 9, 2021. Her sweet spirit and love of Jesus was evident to anyone who spent a few minutes chatting with her. She did many things in her 91 years including working as a telephone operator, newspaper columnist, and avid gardener. She was the devoted wife of the late Jack Hydrick and together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Millie taught Sunday School for many years and dearly loved to be involved in all sorts of women's ministry (WMU) projects. Her servant heart was always evident as she used her talents to benefit others. 

Millie is survived by her son A.J. "Rick" Hydrick, Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Cayce; daughters, Elizabeth Shaye and her husband, Lewis of Irmo, Phyllis Conrad and her husband Tracy of Lexington, grandchildren Patricia Hydrick, Lisa Charles, Samuel Shaye, Benjamin Shaye, Philip Conrad, Sarah Conrad, great grandchild, Meira Charles; sister-in-law Linda Williams of Alabama. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Bernice Harvey; two sisters, Fredrica Atkinson and Agnes Johnson; and one granddaughter, Crystal Shaye.
