Obituary of Vera Omae Ardoin

Ms. Vera Omae Ardoin born on October 11, 1944, in Raeford, North Carolina (Hoke County). She is the daughter of the late Danny and Lillie Shaw. Vera graduated from E. E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, NC in 1963. She was married to the late Paul Clement Ardoin for 46 years and they traveled the world as a military family before making their final home in Columbia, South Carolina. She retired from the Army and Airforce Exchange System. After retirement and before she became ill, Vera loved life, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She loved attending bible study, reading the bible and being in church on Sundays. She also enjoyed shopping and talking on the phone for hours to her many friends and family.    

Vera received her wings on Sunday, September 27, 2020. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Albert Shaw, Malley Shaw, Curtis Shaw and her two sisters Alberta Shaw and Viola Shaw.  

She leaves to cherish her memory two children: Aldevone Tyrone Ardoin (Valeria) from Blythewood, SC and Antonio Tracy Ardoin (Denise) from Columbia SC; four grandchildren: Marques Ardoin (Danielle), Kanisha Ardoin, Antonia Ardoin and Antoinette Ardoin; three great grandchildren: Desmarie Ardoin, Kayleigh Ardoin and Darrius Haynes Jr., all from Columbia, SC; three brothers: Danny Shaw from Fayetteville. NC, James Shaw (Betsy) from Fayetteville, NC and Lonnie Shaw (Debra) from Richardson, TX; two sisters-in-laws: Lucile Thierry (Willard) from Tulsa, OK and Audrey Jones (Willie) from Houston, TX; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
