Obituary of James Lovett

James A Lovett, 79, of Columbia, SC, passed away on September 23, 2020 after he took a fall in his favorite woods in Chester.

He lived his life to the fullest even after he was diagnosed with cancer and it had spread throughout his body. Even though he was ill, he was still determined to enjoy life to the last minute and he did. He loved to fish, hunt, eat out and watch old black and white westerns.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Chong Cha, of 54 years, who will miss and mourn him forever; his daughter, Lee; son-in-law, Martin; 3 grandsons, Gregory, Jonathan and Kristofer; brothers, Walter and Timmy; nephews, Doug, Henry and Charlie; nieces, Lorraine, Cathy and Gail; as well as his great nephew, Brent.

He also had great love of animals and leaves behind his dog, Smokey and his bird, Bird.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia SC  29209.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 11 am in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
