Obituary of Jimmie C. Bouknight

Jimmie C. Bouknight, 79, of West Columbia, passed away August 6, 2020 at Agape Hospice. 

Born February 8, 1941 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Ray B. and Lola Roof Bouknight. Jimmie loved his Country and was a proud US Army Veteran. He was employed with Four Oaks Farms where he worked until his retirement. Jimmie truly enjoyed the outdoors; he loved farming, gardening and all things of nature. Most importantly, he loved his family and friends. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church where he was always active until his health declined.

Jimmie is survived by his life partner, Versia “Toby” Taylor of West Columbia; four step-daughters, Deborah Wallace (Bobby) of West Columbia, Theresa Rhodes (Rick) of Lexington, Cindy Cox of Lexington and Sarah Timmons (Neal) of Basehor, KS. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well as other extended family and friends. He was also predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 15th at Thompson Funeral of Lexington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12 PM till 1 PM.
