Obituary of Ann Riggs Hinton Casiano
Ann Riggs Hinton Casiano, 74, of West Columbia, passed away March 14, 2020 at Agape Hospice House.
Born July 16, 1945 in Kennett, MO, she was the daughter of the late James Leon and Virginia Dalton Riggs. Ann received her Master’s Degree in education and spent her career teaching and molding young lives at Pine Ridge Elementary, Lower Richland High School and Brookland Cayce High School. She was a member of West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church and also previously attended Crossroads World Outreach, Christian Outreach Center and Crossroads of Albuquerque. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose love, joyful spirit, generosity, and dedication to the service of others impacted all of those around her.
Surviving are a son, Jack Hinton (Grace Chan) of Corpus Christi, TX; a daughter, Elizabeth Hinton Darragh of West Columbia; three grandchildren, Hannah Martin Harmon (Andrew), April Darragh and Jack Darragh; one great-grandchild Scarlet Harmon; three loving cousins Betty Newman Carter, Ellen Newman Cook and Linda Newman Smiley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Riggs.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Thursday, March 19th at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Abednego Sigamani officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 PM prior to the service.
