Growing up, we always enjoyed visiting cousin Marvin in W. Columbia while visiting my grandparents, Theresa and Max Efron, in Aiken. I'm glad I got the chance to visit from Israel a few years ago with my youngest daughter. I think the world will be a little sadder place to live in now. Rest in Peace Marvin. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Efron. His personality eased the minds of many who had either never or hadn't in years, been examined by a physician. He was diligent in providing the best possible service to the blind and visually impaired. Dr. Efron was the epitome of what a truly generous person is. For this he has impacted the lives and well being of so many. I am personally appreciative, for the experience I was afforded in knowing him. May God continue to provide the family with strength and comfort during this difficult time. He will truly be missed.

It has been very sad to my knowledge of the death of Dr. Marvin Efrom. As a volunteer of Partners of the Americas I had the opportunity to exchange many experiences with him and for his human and professional quality, I acquired great lessons,
Today I can only say thank you for having met and shared with an exceptional being, a good friend, generous, dedicated to the good of the communities he could serve.
To Sara, her daughters, grandchildren and family in general, my sincere condolences.
With feelings of gratitude and appreciation.

My deepest sympathy to the Efron family. I am sorry for your loss. May you be strengthened and encouraged in the words of Acts 24:15 which offer us hope. For it assure us that loved ones fallen asleep in death will be remembered in the resurrection. The resurrection hope is a guarantee because of Jesus faithful death. Marvin was an admirable professional and friend. I met Marvin in one of our Partners of the Americas meeting, as members of the Board of Directors. I always admire his dedication to helping those in poor communities in rural Colombia, S. Am. that had vision problems. His insights and dedication to the Partners' causes was immeasurable. I will truly miss him.

Dr. Efron was a very kind and caring man. I worked with him for several years at the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, and he was never without a smile, or a great story to share about growing up in Aiken, or showing concern about me and my family. Dr. Efron was always willing to go the extra mile to assist us in meeting the needs of the individuals we served at the Commission. His life on this earth was truly well-lived and I feel extremely blessed to have known him. My prayers and deepest sympathies are with his family, that God will comfort and sustain you all throughout this time of loss and throughout the days ahead.

We don't have words to describe all what Marvin meant to us when we moved to Columbia from Colombia 20 years ago. He showed our way around the city, helped us to rent our first apartment and during these years he was always ready to help us everytime we needed him. He will be missed! He was a great and very special human being. Our deepest sympathy to Sarah and all his family. Luz Maria Salazar and Franz Velasco
