Obituary of Mildred Norton Poole

Mildred Norton Poole, 88, widow of Tony W. Poole, West Columbia, passed away on February 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 26, 1930 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Trannie Shirey Norton. Mildred retired from Horsman Dolls and she was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church.

Mildred was a member of the Mt. Hermon Bowling Team and enjoyed making ceramics, painting and quilting. Her greatest joy in life was being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three sons, Timothy Poole of West Columbia, Steven (Deborah) Poole of Lexington and Mark (LeAnne) Poole of West Columbia; one daughter, Cathy Amick of Chapin; two brothers, Charles (Iris) Norton of Gilbert and Vernon Norton of Branchville; granddaughter, Toni Amick; grandsons, Scott Amick (Stephanie) and Tyler Poole and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church of West Columbia with Rev. Gina Metze officiating. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
