"Our brother, husband, uncle and grandfather, Tinh Van Phan, Dharma name as Quang Thanh, passed away peacefully in his home on February 4, 2019. Visitation will be on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia, SC 20209. The cremation will be on the same day from 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm. Buddhist ceremonies will be held later in his life-long connected Buddhist Temple Tu Lam at 113 Mallard Road, Hopkins, SC 29061. He was born on May 4, 1945, in Hung Yen, North Vietnam and was an ex-pilot of the former Republic Vietnam Airforce. He was a loving husband and father, a faithful Buddhist, and a dear friend. He is survived by his wife, Kim Thu Nguyen; his children, Christine and Kevin Phan; and treasured extended family and friends."
