Obituary of Maxie Mack Lewis
Maxie Mack Lewis, 90, of Lexington, wife of the late Marcellus J. Lewis Sr., passed away to Glory on Sunday, Jan 6, 2019. Maxie was the daughter of the late Hiram T. Mack Sr. and Felicia Hunter Mack. She attended Kittiwake Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Jean Boone (J.M.), Cathrine Walker (Randy), Timothy Lewis and Rhonda Walsh (Harry); one sister, Betty M. Monts; twelve grandchildren, Carol B. Morgan, Jenifer B. Lybrand, Chris Boone, Monica L. Culler, Amy Williams, Adam Lewis, Shannon L. Rochester, Stuart (BO) Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Marc Lewis, Courtney Chavis and Caryn Gentner; eleven great-grandchildren, Neil Boone, Heather Morgan, Katie Lybrand, Kaylee Summerton, Michael Mangum, Rhett Williams, Olivia Williams, Zachary Culler, Ava Culler, Ben Culler and Greyson Boozer; one great-great grandchild, Avery Summerton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Molly Brown. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Marcellus J. (Jud) Lewis Jr.; one sister, Eula M. Langley; two brothers, Hiram T. Mack Jr. and K.B. Mack.
Special thanks to all on the Oncology floor at Lexington Medical Center, who were so good to our mother.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Southland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
