Obituary of Ernestine Hallman Byrd

Ernestine Hallman Byrd, 86, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away September 19, 2018 in Oak Leaf Village in Lexington, South Carolina. She was born on July 22, 1932 to the late David and Nettie Ford Hallman.

Ernestine is survived by her brother, Charles Hallman of Moulton, AL; 18 nieces and nephews, Linda Hite, Carolyn Brazell, Kaye Jordon, Vicki Sosbee, Ruthie Hutto, David Hallman, Brenda Wiggins, Larry Grice, Debbie Wells, Ken Grice, Steve Hallman, David Hallman, Ann Marie Sharpe, Lorraine Rye, Keith Young, Brenda Coker, Janice Tyler; and one brother in law, Claytor Young.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Drawdy and her second husband, Olin Byrd; sisters, Hilda Hutto, Maxine Grice and Elizabeth Young; her twin brother, David Hallman; and a nephew, Clay Young.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Interment will follow. Since Ms. Byrd was never blessed with children, so her legacy lives on, the family is asking that contributions be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.
